We went to visit my niece at Camp Lejeune last weekend, and came home with this:
When my niece got pregnant, she found a new home for Mocha. But last week, the dog was back at her house thanks to the microchip. The new owners, who never changed the chip info, apparently let her get pregnant, took the puppies, and left Mocha on the side of the road.
Because my niece is about to give birth and already has a toddler — all while her marine husband is in Afghanistan — we decided to take the dog home with us and try to find a good home for her.
It is looking like that home may be ours. Someone stop me before I adopt again …
You rock! She is so cute and her story is so sad. People are such A-holes to animals sometimes. You should keep her…

I don’t know, Beth. Mocha’s face seems to say, “I love Maggie.”

I thought you were amazing before. Now I know it.
What you will do for a dog shows the world what your heart is like. Good for you that you are showing your children that same compassionate side! And good for Mocha too! Is there anything better than boys with their dog?

Yes, but they already have two dogs. Am I a glutton for punishment?

I had 4 springer spaniels at one time!! 3 with kids less than 3! the difference between 2 and 3 is negligible….
how fun!!

Beth you have a such a good heart. I would have about 100 rescues if I could, but not such a good idea in a 2 bedroom townhouse. Someday though I will have my animal sanctuary.
